Happy Christmas

Your local Labour team send you our best wishes for the Christmas season.

We’ve been hard at work over the last few weeks trying to do what we can to assist local residents through these difficult times. As well as our usual delivery of Christmas cards to thousands of local households, we helped to deck out the Mark Grove Neighbourhood Centre with some festive lights. Cllr Sue Ellis is pictured above in full ‘Mother Christmas’ gear helping Winthrop Gardens to deliver festive afternoon teas to people who attend the memory cafe there.

Meanwhile John Healey MP dropped in to Sunnyside Supplies as part of the big delivery of Christmas hampers to more than 50 households across our area and beyond who have needed an additional helping hand this Christmas.

If you do happen to be on your own this Christmas Day, or you know someone who is, everyone is welcome to join the Sunnyside Supplies get together led by Cllr Emma Hoddinott from 11am for some singing, readings and just for a natter.

You can join online using Zoom by clicking here or by dialing in from any phone on 0131 460 1196 (standard call rate) and entering meeting ID: 830 3002 4625.

From 8pm on Christmas Eve until 8am on Monday 4th January, the council is closed for all but emergency and essential services. Contact numbers for those services and other information is available over on the RMBC website: please click here.

Of course we’re all hoping for a much better 2021 – and we’ve lots to be getting on with to continue serving our community – but for now, we wish you a very happy, and safe, Christmas.
