Bramley Aldi update: new planning application submitted

Good news on progress around the former Lighting Bug site at Bramley: following correspondence with us and John Healey MP, Aldi have repeated their commitment to develop the site, they have restored the security fencing, and have submitted a new planning application to Rotherham Council.

The new application (which can be viewed in full by clicking here) includes Aldi demolishing the former parade of shops along Main Street, increasing slightly the size of the proposed store and the number of car parking spaces. The shops that would be affected have been boarded up since around the time that the original planning permission was granted, but were not actually included in that application.

For comparison, the application that was approved for the site last year can be found by clicking here.

Anyone wishing to comment on the revised plan can do so via the council’s website and quoting application reference number RB2015/0876.
