Local Plan consultation

The latest stage of public consultation on Rotherham’s “Local Plan” sites is now taking place. The Plan (previously known as the Local Development Framework) specifies which sites can and cannot be developed for housing or business use in the borough over a fifteen year period.

Following previous consultation, the proposed number of houses expected to be developed in Rotherham over the full period has been reduced, with the government’s planning inspector accepting the council’s argument about the need for fewer homes earlier this year.

There is only a small part of the Wickersley ward directly affected by the proposed sites, although there are some proposed sites for possible development in areas close to the ward – notably at Ravenfield Common and off Morthen Road.

You can find out more about the site specifics and make comments online – here – or by attending a drop in session at Wickersley Library between 2pm and 7pm on Thursday November 13th.
